Choosing a Surf Camp

Postby Razor Burn » Wed Aug 16, 2006 5:49 am

I've been thinking about the idea of spending a couple of weeks at a surf camp sometime in the Nov, Dec time frame. My only surfing experience was one lesson while on vacation in Australia so i'm looking for something suited to beginners.

So far I've found 4 that seemed liked a good choice but i'd like to hear from anyone thats spent time at the camp or has been to that area to give me a little insight.

Third World Productions - Costa Rica (Playa Jaco / Playa Hermosa)
Green Iguana - Costa Rica (Playa Dominical)
Casa Del Sol - Ecuador (Montanita)
School of the World - Costa Rica (Playa Jaco / Playa Hermosa)

Also has anyone done a surf camp solo before, i'm having a hard time convincing friends to come along, their either not interested in surfing or just broke, and it seems the camps are catered toward couples and groups. Well, i still got time, November's a ways off, maybe i just need to be more anonying.

I'm interested in how long you can wing it in ecuador on give or take 1000 euro. From what I've heard and read it's totally worth a visit. I am Definitely going!
