Naw, this wave is the Green Toungue, and the rocks are deep enough to not ding your board, and my avatar is me, at GT, on my 5'10 INT board. Thats the other thing about the rocks, with the INT boards, you can smack a rock and still be dingless! And the water is coooold here too, the Kananaskis is glacier fed(ice water). Hope to get out somewhere next summer other than Tofino and do some real surfing!

There is a spot on the great lakes that you can catch a breaker outside of the channel of a river, and surf into it...

I don't know anything about River surfing, but it looks interesting though,

I have only seen one picture of it, and it looked more like river body boarding, maybe it was just that picture, like I said, it is the only time I have ever seen a pic of it, not much for reading about surfing. Do you stand up? Do you use a regular surf board? How fast does the river have to move to make it surfable?

I have a small river that runs through my backyard, I might try it.

Fill us in on the how to's bro. and thanks for share'n

Its awesome, and heck ya you stand up!! Almost any short board will work, but I use a 5 10 INT board, as they can take a beeting and not get dinged soo easly. And its not just the river u use, its when theres a rock under the water and it makes a big rapid, so you can surf it. Around calgary, most of the waves are just like surfing the whitewater, but its the best there is around here. Heres some pics of me. Oh, and my avatar is me riversurfing the GT (green toungue)

Darn, that's the only 1 of me that worked, the good ones or me are .bmp or something, so here are some pics of some other dudes, surfing the GT.

dude i dont know but that looks kinda boring. All your doing is standing up on the whitewater, like not much room there to do anything. Maybe it just looks that way?
