went down caswell today, stormy 4ft, rubbish. Bit gutted as it might be big enough for some of the shelterd secret spots to be working but the reports underestimated so i hadnt bothered looking.

just got back from puts howling cross offshores but not to bad right in the corner. had a few big waves, there was one i spoted on the horizon it was just towering above every thing else. so i started paddling out for it, no one else had spoted and just stayed inside, started coming in geting bigger and bigger, i turned and started paddling for what must have been a good 10ft face wave telling my self to just go for it and dont be a pussy. caught it flow down the face, went to bottom turn hit about 6 inches of chop on the face feel off back wards and just looked up at the wave to see it break on me. all though i didnt make the bottom turn still stoked i made the drop :D

went down north devon this weekend, set of at 4 in the morning got to saunton at about 7 (pretty good for a camper van), it was about 4-5ft and at one point it was cross offshore winds, it got to about 10 and saunton was xxxxx, so we got a campsite, had lunch, then headed to puts, it was about 6-7ft on the set waves, took about 10 muinets to paddel out on my longboard, and when you get out there wow, the ride is amazing, you drop into the wave huge bottom turn youve got so much speed, but if you pump, you could do a huge off the lip then it all closes out.

surfed there for about 3 hours, then went got some T slept, woke up and the swell had dropped off but the winds had picked up, so went to puts and it was about 3-4ft and closing out, but still had a good sesh.

went down caswell yesterday, nice clean 3footers, lots of long rides across the bay (which is rare at the spot known locally as "closeout caswell")

just got back from gennith today, was an easy 5ft maybe bigger and much bigger on the odd set. Copped the biggest wipeout ive had in a long time, was sure id snapped my board but was glad to find it didnt even have a single crack in it. dropped off a bit at high tide but there was still afew freak sets coming in every now and again, good fun getting past them to find all the people who where sat in the lineup alongside had dissappeared and then spotting them inside trying to get back on their boards

Ha, I was in Rhosilli Sunday and Caswell Monday - almost the opposite to you GC. Anyhow Rhosilli on Sunday was crap, just way too messy and short periods. Caswell today was a good laugh, waves were only about 2ft but clean! It was good to mess around on.

Surf this afternoon was perfect! Best session I have had in months! The waves were 2-3ft and completely clean! You could catch a wave far out and surf it all the way in getting a nice long ride. No need to wait ages for a set, there was perfect waves all afternoon. As it got passed 6 the surf went crap and messy.

You see this is why I need to move to the coast.

I spent the weekend at Gennith and apart from a little swell on Sunday evening it was flat as hell. I left Monday morning and what happens it gets better!

Oh well fingers crossed for next months little trip.

Praise be! After months of driving for over an hour in search of surf, the surf has finally come to me! Had a beautiful pre-work sesh, just 20 mins from home. Best surf I ever had, took a beautiful wave in.... still totally stoked seven hours after getting out. Shame I had to work though. It really was fantastic. Caught my best wave yet. It had just broken, but it had lotssa power and took me along for ages. For the first time ever, I jumped off because the wave was still carrying onto the shore, rather than the usual 'overbalancing-clown' dismount I normally do...

So. Stoked. :D Ready for Ireland now over new years....

(Hey, I'm a newbie, I'm alowed to be this stupidly excited )

swell didnt get as big as id been hoping for but dead clean at caswell high tide, took a nasty spill on a floater and got the fins right in my arm which ended up with a deep cut on my elbow and a badly bruised tendon, lots of pain and a pretty useless dead arm.
Typically straight after that the waves started to get glassy and really hollowing out, i stayed in for another half an hour but my one-armed takeoffs werent quite cutting it with the steep waves so i called it a day and went home, been wincing every time ive moved my arm since, hope its strong enough tomorrow to go back in.

Just had an all day session on the south coast at k-bay with phil and jennie. Glassy smooth in the morning with 8ft faces on the set waves. Regulary got 200m long clean rides, just awesome. Best session to date as i'm sure phil will tell you all about his new favourite wave. STOKED!
