Central or South America?

Postby slipknot » Fri Jul 23, 2004 1:28 pm

Going on a surf trip for November and December this year to either Costa Rica/Panama or Peru/Equador. I've never been to either places and would appreciate any advice from anyone thats been there. Thanks.

hey buddy. panama in th e caribbean side it would be one of your best choices as well the caribbean in costa rica, in panama bocas del toro islands will be going off for sure cuz the season starts in october being november and december the best months, in costa rica the puerto viejo area its the best option, salsa brava and the other spots around! and the season works same in all caribbean areas of america.. so if you are planning a trip november or december you must go there cuz for that time the pacific ocean its shut down, cuz the pacific ocean in central and south america only works with south, south west swells that born in australia and new zeland areas! so if you dont go to caribbean then you will find a flat or small pacific!

waves in bocas or puerto viejo are tough!!! we are talking about coral reef breaks and drop, pull in and get barrelled and nothng more type of waves so be sure you have the skills for that! if not wait til pacific wakes up from march to october and you will get houndrens of beachbreaks, pointbreaks of all kinds from panana goin up til mexico to choose from!

enjoy your trip
