most surfshops carry surfrack type things for pickups. it have this little pad with straps and tie the board down to your tailgate and the pad prevents any scratches. so your board is mostly in the bed of the truck and just the tail is on the tailgate with the pad and straps tieing it down. believe me your board is not going anywhere if you buy this thing (if you do it correctly). good luck!

Coz, you mean somrthing like this? What are the 2 straps for? You put them around the backdoor of the bed or something? You open it then put the straps around?

BTW, sorry for the big picture.

actually the one i was talking about is made by fcs soft racks. but for the dakine ones i dont know how to do those but most of them come with directions. ask the surfshop or person selling them if they come with directions. but i know the fcs ones do come with directions for sure.

good luck!

i asked my friend about the dakine ones one time and he said that they do wrap around the tailgate. if i remember correctly they come undun wrap around the tailgate then you clip them back into place or something like that.

good luck!

So the strap on top goes around the door (tailgate?) to the bed of the truck. The door (tailgate?) is open and you put the board on the pad. Then what are the other 2 loops for? And correct me if I'm wrong. Oh, and if you can find a pic of the strap in use, it would help a shitload.

ok the two stratps hanging down go around the tailgate (door) of the truck and the tail of the board goes in the loop ontop of the pad and then that loop is tightened down on the board. get it? if you have anymore questions let me know.

good luck!

yea. nose or tail depending on the rocker of your board. just try both and find that best for your board. where are you from?

just put a towel where your nose goes and put the stomp pad on the tailgate with a bunjee cord over top of the board. i carry 1-4 boards this way, and i drive an s10.
