Sorry, betraying my sportsbikes and off-road prejudices there... cruisers... cant stand 'em

"Cruisers. For People That Can't Ride Real Bikes"

Thats exactly what I keep telling a friend of mine that moved to San Fransisco, CA. Every year he rides his big old chromed out harley over 3000 miles to Daytona for bike week. The damn fool still thinks he knows how to ride a bike. Go figure.

Now those cool guys wearing the power ranger riding suits in all their day glow colored glory. Now those are the true bikers. You can always tell how a person rides by what they ride. Just like everyone knows a surfer carrying an CI AM board can surf better than any kook with a bic.

I'd give 5 years off my life if I could surf half as good as I ride. Never had a pop out board thou.

The number of days when Ive got out of the water, tootled home and told myself "Tomorrow Im going out on my bike, tomorrow I'll do something I can actually do well"

Thing is, these days, on these crowded and over-camera'd roads, I dont enjoy bikes as much as I used to. It used to be that going fast was the point, and losing the licence was the risk. But these days, losing my licence would be the end of the world for me and I'd have to move to a new country or something

At least with surfing, you can surf like a tw@t but you'll never get banned!

And getting a camper has changed my mentality about speed too.... whats the rush everyone? You wont get there any quicker.... 8)

Totally agree with you, it is very frustrating with over crowded roads etc, this is why we do track days, its the only semi- safe place to ride fast, but i will never give up riding bikes, love the adrenaline..
i just hope that in a few years time i can be confident on a surfboard as on a bike doing a 110mph knee down at Mallory Park !!

I picked up my KDX last night and rode it for the 1st time, It goes tidy but looks a bit rough around the edges so my bro and me are going to take her apart to get the frame powdercoated then throw a few pretty decals on her and she'll be as good as new.

Does anybody know of any tracks where I dont have to turn her, thus eliminating the need to continually falloff
