What about an ironing board??

I've always wondered if that would work... ha ha

Yea I saw that footage! Awesome and SOO much fun! They needed towing.. of course, imagine paddling your fave suitcase into a big one.

you know i think furniture riding really is the future of surfing aye! :D

The little hearsay I have says Slater not only can, but does (book: longboarders startup).

That books by and for progressive longboarders and that jels with how I figure he would be inclined to ride a longboard.

yeah, hes such a sell out, going and proving hes the best surfer in the world in competition then dropping out to just free surf for years when theres nothing left to prove, then coming back and showing hes still the best in his 30s.
he should have just stayed at his local break working some crappy job and surfing slop in his time off.

Ah... Maybe you should watch the new world champion longboarder.

Google "Josh Constable". Go Aussie ;)

Or watch "LOG".

Nothing old and boring there.

Naturally, retro is cool too.

FWIW I *heard* that Slater longboards OK. Unsubstantiated.

Just getting sick of the name in the idolised context :)

My memory is shot but I am quite sure that I saw a picture with Kelly ridding a longboard stuck on the inside (looking a bit confused) with about 5 other well known surfers droping in on him (or you may say sharing the wave  , don't you just love having mates  )... was quite a sizeable wave, the picture was hanging at Ralph Riddels shop in Wollongong Australia (have heard that he has shut up shop and moved up the coast?).

That guy could swim one handed and get outside the break, whilst eating an ice lolly, eat it, pop up on the stick, ride it to the shore, then get a laugh telling the joke on it!
