POINT BREAK A break where the waves are refracted around a headland or point and then peel along the inside of the point.

J bay in South Africa is proberbly the best example of a point break, the only 1 iv'e ever surfed was in Bude by the harbour.

saunton itself isnt a point breack, buy you know them rocks at the end of the cliff, when you drive around the point to get to croyed, that is called oysters/croyed point/downend point and that is a point breack but it only works well on clean big swells. saunton is just a verylong beach breack when you catch it by the rocks cas thers a build up of sand or something like that

You'd struggle be able to paddle to oyster's as it isn't where you think it is. Downend point is at the end of the rocks as suggested but oysters is elswhere all together and is a reef break/sandbar (not sure which) and is quite a distance maybe 1 mile out the back of croyde. See photo of it breaking in the distance!
