Stupid Computer

Great...so as you might have noticed (or probably not) that I haven't been online for like a week now. This is due to my computer going on strike :lol:

It decided it wouldn't turn on now so I won't be posting much unless i am in an internet cafe.

Any ideas on how to fix that lappy?

Sounds like a battery problem. It doesn't come on even when plugged up to the mains? Is the battery light on the laptop saying its charging? Any signs of power?

No signs of any power even when plugged in

The most I get is a flicker (barely) when I take the battery out for 30 mins and out it back in.

I am going to go and test a new battery tomorrow. Could it be anything else? Like my computer is just fleshed?

Fuse in the plug? When I worked in the camera shop I lost count of how many muppets came in screaming that their cameras wouldnt charge - they never thought of checking the fuse

The battery charger works great...that has the green light on, but my computer doesn't

Cant say for sure, but I would imagine it is just a power problem. One of my old Laptops battery and charger went. Had to buy a new battery for it and charger to get it working again. Is there anything about the charger lead that looks odd? You could attempt to fix the lead yourself.

It sounds like the wires going from the charger to the laptop are knackered. Its probably the end part of the lead that plugs into your laptop. Might have become worn and twisted (it happens). You could cut the wire carefully and inspect it and then tape it back up properly.

If its not the charger then maybe the power supply in the laptop has gone. Best to take it apart and check if you can see anything obvious. Check if you can get the power supply replaced.
