Friday Afternoon

Postby Toasty » Fri Jul 09, 2004 2:16 pm

This is probably a gratuitous use of the message board but:

It's friday afternoon and i'm really bored. Has anyone any entertaining anecdotes?

heehee i finished school like 2 weeks ago! but i've been working most of the time since then and still haven't had the cahnce to go surfing, partly because i got an industrial piercing (cartilage rim to rim in my ear) and don't dare go in the crappy water of rest bay with a fresh piercing:S what do you reckon? i've had it 2 weeks today, do you think it'l be ok?

hey freaky welsh chick
salt water is well known for its healing properties, so your piercing should be sweet. maybe cover it with a sticky plaster or wear a hoodie if you got one. and use something anti-bactarial on your piercing once you get out of the water. have fun

i know i just posted, but something strikes me as rather disturbing that everyone's answer to combatting boredom is to surf the net. you are proper surfers! go get wet! that is all.

What pray tell is an industrial piercing????

Postby Brent » Wed Jul 14, 2004 7:36 am

Hate to show my age here but what is that....in your ear???
Something called a "cartilage rim to rim" sounds painful and very medical.
I cannot imagine something like this would be recreational? Is it??

Oh dear. I must be old or something :->

It's the whole city living having a job thing. Saving up for my 4 month surf trip but thats still a year away. Hopefully buying a skateboard (of the long variety) should appease some of my surfing pangs.

When I say city, i forgot that some people here live in cities right by the waves. I was talking about london which has no waves. But we do have the Queen coming to visit our office (floor above us) today. I'm going to wave.

Still bored, just spent four days in the sea though so feeling a little better. Work is dull, and onto my next point:

How can I a) become a professional surfer or b) get to spend most of my life getting paid to surf without, and this is the important bit, the required ability or any particular natural aptitude for surfing?

Ideas? Plans? All help appreciated.

Cheers,

Barny

Ok ok I understand now what you mean by that Freaky Welsh Chick, I can visualise what you've done to your poor ear. What would your mother say :-)
Just a thought, when out surfing do fish follow you...I mean, now your ear would look like a fishing lure wouldn't it??

LOL ! Enjoy :-)
