surfing near San Francisco??

I`m going to San Francisco and I would like to learn surfing, but is there a nice beach with a surfing school near there ?? Any tipps will be helpfull.

I'd be careful, there have been large Great White Sharks spotted in San Francisco Bay, including several that exceed sixteen or seventeen feet.

I ve surfed now for 4 days and in Half moon bay I think im pretty save. The surf camp there is great. but thanks

don't know about surf schools in SF area. Beginner friendly waves are in Pacifica and across the golden gate bridge in bolinas. DO NOT surf Ocean Beach as a beginner.
