Itchy feet.

Postby libby » Wed Jul 19, 2006 7:59 pm

I'm begininning to get itchy feet again and am dying to fly off somewhere interesting. Quite clearly not going to happen for quite some time so until then i'm just going to do my usual trick of dreaming up the best possible holidays, sort of travel window shopping.

So if I (or the god or the lottery or your mum or great great aunty who smells a little bit like wee) gave you £10,000 to spend on travelling, you have 1 week to plan it and your only away for 3 months where would you go, what would you spend the money on?

Obviously everyone wants perfect waves so go into a bit more detail if you can!

Go on...scratch my itch  (once again typed something and realised that this could be seen as something other than innocent - DONT SAY IT CHEEZEE, OR DOUG, OR PAT OR PHIL OF STONE FOX FOR THAT MATTER! :P )

with 10k i think it would have to be costa rica ive allways wanted to travel there, you hear alot about how chilled and friendly the locals are you got warm waters and perfect waves, what more could you want?

10k seems to much though my idea of traveling has allways been back packing really ruffing it, camping on the beachs living as cheap as possible really geting to see the country your traveling in, not staying in a 4 star hotel thats fenced off with an open bar full of chavs that are there to get pissed

Yeh same here, never actually stayed in a really posh hotel (*cough hint to brent cough*) but i didnt want people to be restricted.

You could always give the rest of the money to a local costa rican charity or get a whole new custom quiver made for the trip. It would cost half the money to take all of them out with you and backk again anyway

Doug fumbles for his "back scratcher" ;)

What about Aus? Or Indo? Or the Mentawis? Or Fiji?

I would go to Nova Scotia in Canada and head down to the South Coast (from La Have south wards). There are no crowds and sooooooooo many amazing breaks waiting to be discovered.

Jeff from the local surf shop will help you out with spots, but if you have a map and a car you can do that for yourself.

Hmm, dont think ten grand would be enough  My mates already paid for our hotel room when we go to Oz in April and that bill came to £4000 for 9 days

Mind you, it is the Four Seasons, and the room overlooks the harbour and Opera House... (and im not paying a penny!!)

lol yup

No Arabian Princess... my mate is a freelance writer, sub-edits on three huge magazines in the States... loaded lol.

She was supposed to be going over to Oz this month for a few shows but had to cancel cos her twat of an ex-hubby decided he couldnt look after the kids whilst she was away because his new girlfriend doesnt like them...

So, she'd already paid the hotel bill, contacted the hotel who said there was no problem in changing dates. Hello Four Seasons :D
