The O'Neill Epic 2 Verdict

Postby Laguna » Fri Jul 14, 2006 8:17 pm

Right, I bought this about 2 months back as a new summer suit for this year for £70 reduced from £120 online. Bargain!!

Anyhow the suit fits well and looks nice....etc however when I got it in the water I felt that it was letting small amounts of water in around the lower back area. Also it gives my neck a really bad rash even when im wearing a rash vest. The third thing that happened was the 'O' and one of the 'L''s has pealed off the chest ALREADY, so now it says "NEIL" :x

p.s my name isn't neill by the way which is why I look stupid :D

Normally the 'i' goes next and you're left with 'Nel'

I think they're designed to do that.

Some of my XCEl's letters have worn off; I wouldn't worry about it.

As for the water in the lower back; I think that's fairy normal. You may need one size smaller, it's hard to say being on the internet.

I've got a 3/2 Epic II. It's deffinately one of their cheap lines. I get the neck rash too. The rash guard with the "turtle neck" style helps a lot, but hasn't eliminated the problem. Currently I just deal with it. It's the stitching on the neck. Next time I'm getting a suit that doesn't have the stitching on the neck (like my 5/4 XCel; no rash).

The size is fine, I can kinda deal with the small bit of water being let in every now and then , and also the letters pealing off, but the neck rash is annoying! It is because of the rubbery material and stitching at the neck. My Billabong winter suit is fine without a rahs vest. I suppose you get what you pay for.
