Just got a sick deal on a 9'.

Postby Whitey » Tue Jul 11, 2006 8:40 pm

I've been riding shortboards for about 6 years and today, while browsing the local surf shop, noticed a big ole' 9 foot boat sitting in the used board section. Picked it up, held it, felt it, and noticed that the previous owner hadn't even put a fin in the darn thing yet because the plastic block in the fin box was still attached...Anyways they wanted 450 for that bad jackson, and they even threw in an 8.0 fin and a leash. I have ridden those 8' foam baords before and love them. This is going to be a hoot. I waxed that thing nose to tail and rail to rail. Just wanted to brag on the deal I got...

Edit: Its a single fin, and the thing had literally no scratces or dents. The shaper is Mike Rowe, some local guy. I think the company is D-Hook.

Welcome to the world of the glide.

It's gonna be different to the 8' softie for sure.

Have some fun - try the fin in different positions in the box. Get some different cheap fins of eBay and do the same.

I'm sure you'll have a ball. You have an advantage on all your mates now... As long as it's1'+ you can have fun on a board!

That's really cool, man.

You'll deffinately enjoy it, and being in VA you'll probably be able to get out more now too!

Took it out today. I will admit it, longboarding is more fun than riding the little stick. It was small surf and averaged knee high with occasional waist sets. I was riding that line forever!

The right tool for every job!

I just invested in an 8'4" watercooled epoxy and I haven't tried it out yet. It's got a sweet carbon fiber and glass center fin and 2 FCS thrusters at the side.

Cool Man

Postby Jimmy22 » Sat Jul 15, 2006 4:03 pm

Yea man, I've been out just about everyday for the last couple weeks. I've discovered that on the pier end of Sandbridge the waves tend to peel much better than anywhere else. If you ever get out there I'll be out on an Orange Infinity Cluster-V and a buddy of mine who is always with me rides a Jacobs Noserider. Good stuff man, hope to see you out there.
