-How far to paddle out??

-How far to paddle out??

-How far is a safe distance to paddle out, cus i am some what worried because the undercurrent is quite strong where i live, And dont really plan on a long ride just a distance where people on shore can see me. :oops:

Unless your planing on riding white water, your gonna have to go out past where the waves are breaking.

You wanting people to see you for your safety, or just to be seen? If its the latter, your best bet wood be stay home, and watch Blue Crush a few more times.

Go somewhere 'learner friendly', preferably with life guards, and surf either with friends or near other people (obviously respecting their space and rights of way etc etc). And dont go out on big days.

But you have to get past the white water.
