Midnight Express is a great (but harrowing) film.

If youre into reading stuff like that, get 'The Damage Done' by Warren Fellows.

Its an autobiography and tells the story of how he and his mate Paul Hayward got caught in Thailand for heroin trafficking. Paul Hayward died in prison, but Fellows was released in 1990 (I think). He's still got shackle scars on his ankles.

There are a few really gruesome parts to the book (people being dragged up and down concrete stairs by their ankles, being submerged in boiling hot water to open their pores and then covered with chili powder and then doused in freezing cold water...)

yea, its crazy here!

If you get busted smuggling anything at all, you f*ked!

If you smoke anything or take anything and the police show up..its about 200baht bribe and there gone! (200baht = almost 3 quid)

+ Good on ya cheezee for writing those letters. "termination of life" would well and truly SUCK if you had an once of hash...

..ahh , only wrote a letter to some minister in Thailand on behalf of this boys family as part of a show of mercy for the boy .. i heard about it on the web and ya know ..what does it take to write a letter man

Still... the letter writing thing is cool. People always say ''one bloke wont make a difference'', but usually that one bloke attracts more people into doing things and eventually someone does listen.
