Board Legnth for a Beginner... Again - Sorry!

Postby surfhobbit » Wed Jul 05, 2006 6:02 pm

Hi there

Have got the bug after an afternoon down Fistral on the weekend - loved it! :D

I'm looking to get an NSP mini mal that is 7'2" in length. I'm 5'7" tall and weigh 75kg/165lb.
Will this be too short? Should I go for a 7'6" instead? I've heard 1.5 - 2ft longer than your height is a good size to go for???

Cheers
Gaz

You're asking the usual question, but at least you're not telling us you're getting a 6ft shortboard

If you're 75kg, and a beginner, you should probably be looking at the 7'6. You'll progress a lot quicker on it, and it'll be more fun :D

Welcome to the forum, and to the surf. It only gets more addictive....

Thanks man. Went for the 7'6 today as recommended.
Can't wait to get back out there...
