surf board availability in pavones, costa rica

Hi there, I'm heading to Costa Rica for a month from mid sept and am going to be staying in a place 7km south of Pavones on south west coast. I'm just wondering if anyone knows how easy it is to hire/buy a board out there and what surf's like in general? I'm only riding a bic 7'9 at the moment so would be after something similar but don't want the hassle of taking mine.
Any ideas/info would be greatly appreciated!!

Good to hear some one else is off to Costa Rica in September...(except im going for 3/4 months ) I dont really know how easy it would be to buy or rent a board out there, I havent looked into it as i was just going to take one or two of mine. So i cant really help you on that front...

But there are a couple of people who use the forum who are from costa rica themselves so they should be able to help you out...try Natty

hey jennie, Thanks for welcome! 3-4 months down there should be brilliant! Where you heading? Thanks for tip, hopefully i'll hear from some of the locals. I'm going to be staying at a turtle monitoring project so all accom is sorted by them.

Im flying out to San Jose then working my way North and west probably to Playa Hermosa because I have a friend there who can put me up. I will probably then work my way south or something, im a bit undecided at the moment just going to go where the waves take me!
