surfing in Libya

Postby waterlove » Sun Jun 25, 2006 9:35 am

Hi all,

I m a new member here...I moved to Libya a year ago, and started surfing here...I would ve never thought that you can surf on the mediterreanean, but hell yeah!
Beautiful empty beaches! We dont get that much waves, but when we do...it s fun! Best time is in winter! Right now it s just FLAT! so been just paddling around:)

Libya is great for windsurfing and kitesurfing...So you should start considering coming down here as well!!

Cheers,
Waterlove

You know you can find surf in the most supprising of places.

To gwt the best results in the med you need slow moving tight system to pass accross. Swell in turn is produced, be is low period and pretty gutless but hey, your in the med!

I've scorded the city beaches at Barcelona about 2-3ft. nothing special by anymeans but was greaqt to get in for a surf on a uni trip :p
