Sunscreen for surfing?

Looking for good advice on suncreen. everyone said to use Bullfrog but it washed off and blinded me-now my face is a horror show.

it comes in five shades from UK white to Brazilian brown, fully waterproof, fully UV proof, more like a cream than an oil.

i just use e45 factor 25 sun stick its works for about 2 hours in the sea if you put enough on and it fair cheap.

Just joined this forum and found this discussion.

People may be interested in this report from the Consumers' Association Which? Magazine http://www.which.net/land/report/01frontpage.html which suggests that the SPF that many "top brand" sunscreen products claim are not all they're cracked up to be!

yeah i heard something about this don't they reckon that some sun screen that says if spf of 60 is actually only spf of 20. its all because of diffrent measurement factors or summin.

It's not quite *that* bad, but sun creams are allowed to be +/- 20% of the indicated value and you can bet that the manufacturers aren't going to err on the low side...!

there is a sunscreen made 4 surfin saw it in a surf shop....

I use a sunscreen called badger sunscreen, the sport variety, its pretty much the most natural sunscreen you can buy, and is completely non-toxic. Its expensive though, but I only need a little for my face and neck so it lasts a long time. It's waterproof but they do recommend re-applying every 2 hours or so. I don't know if its available outside of the United States or not.

I've heard of homemade solutions, but they never sounded very appealing. Things like brewing some extra concentrated black tea, and mixing that concentrate with equal parts virgin sesame oil and supposedly something like that could help, but I prefer just to buy the stuff I recommended above.
