night surf

Postby iomarti » Fri Jun 16, 2006 7:59 pm

is anyone going to the night surf at Lusty Glaze tonight and this weekend?

I'm just writing this message, then I'm off. No waves though, so that's a shame. I'll let you know what it's like ... gonna be a wicked atmosphere, floodlit surfing, bands, b-b-q and a big party!

Thats kind of scary unless theres alot of people with you which would be cool. I havent tried night surfing since I heard sharks usually are out during those times or something like that. Well I want to try it some time but not get eaten hehe.

i been surfing at night a couple of times. On a clear night witha full moon it is possible, otherwise you cant see the waves coming till they hit you.

I don't think there are many sharks in newquay, except the ones in the aquarium!

It was all flood lit, so the surfers could see. Not that there was much to see anyway, the smallest waves but still they surfed and it was ace. And the sunset was gorgeous.

Good band too and a great atmosphere, lots of kids too, which was so nice. Lots of 8yr old boys with the tiniest shortboards I have ever seen. I'm going again tonight and there's gonna be a big firework display on top of the surfers.

Looks like much better surf today too.
