Lessons in Los Angeles...

anyone able to recommend a good instructor for lessons in Los Angeles? i've been surfing for a few months now, have some basic skills down and i'm looking to improve quickly.

If you are up for a little commute to the OC , I hear the Corky Carroll Surf school is pretty good. He actually writes a column for the OC Register.
Other than that I would suggest searching the web for info and making sure that they have a good ratio (no more than 5 to 1 for group lessons) and that the instructors are at least lifeguard certified. Also find surf shops around you and ask who they would recommend.
