ok back to the topic of the movie, "letting go"

how sick is the chapter after he loses his first heat and he surfs up and down the east coast of sydney at a rarely ridden spot..whatever its called. he was riding on only 2 fins on his 6'5

those waves are crazy, i like especially how they dont completely mute the sound of the waves to the music, you really experience how intense these waves are, they truly are bombs, its like an explosion when they close, truly extraordinary.

Yeah, I wonder what else he's got now too!

Greatest surfer ever? Yeah, I think so. He's just amazing. Maybe there's some underground surfer that's better...sure, but Slater still gets my vote.

He's surfed a table, toboggan, suitcase, shovel and a door!

But...keep an eye on John John Florence...he may be the next "greatest".

So you bought the dvd then? Ye it really is a great surf film. Loved every minute of it. Im suprised he was able to paddle with a can of beer in his teeth lol.
Its sick when he just keeps nailing every barrel, he makes it look so easy.

yeah, thats about the only thinkg kelly is lacking, he needs to work on his aerials.

@Laguna - i was down caswell saturday and sunday, sat was pretty good but sun was a bit choppy, had a look there on my way home from work today and it didnt look too good but then it was near low tide and caswell sucks at low tide apart from the reefs.

i think he's the greatest of all time, what really makes him my inspiration is his attitude, it really sets him apart from other surfers, he's probably the most humble person i know, even with 7 world titles under his belt, well i really dont know him, but u know what i mean

And please don't take me wrong - I'm not stirring or trolling.

But does everyone on here REALLY think that KS is the greatest surfer ever? He certainly seems to be the greatest competition surfer so far. But I don't think competition surfing is all there is to it.

What about freesurfing? And big wave surfing? How about guys like Laird for sheer inventiveness? What about the Duke?

Anyway, just thinking aloud and hoping to hear some genuine thoughts...
