may bank holiday - buddies wanted!

Postby thaya » Fri Apr 21, 2006 7:48 am

hey, I'm hoping to go surfing this bank holiday (30,31,01may)but I'm still in surrey and haven't got cash for petrol/ accomodation to cornwall/devon. Anyone either wanna share a ride & tent (bit too cosy maybe!) or try a day out at joss bay in kent? I've heard it's ok there but have never been.

Hey Thaya,

Joss bay is very unlikely to work this time of year. There's always a chance, but its unlikely to be worth making a trip for. And its a surprisingly long way from where you are - you may as well go to Devon!

Will let you know if Im around devon that weekend.

Oh yeah, and one more thing - long range forecast for next weekend (so utterly unreliable, at least Im hoping) is for yet more flat flat flat

Here's hoping the charts change, they cant possibly be correct that far in advance, it'll pick up, there's a low pressure developing right now... (am I beginning to sound desperate?) :?

thanks for the repliessssssssssssssss! i thought it's only about 2hrs to joss bay and at least 5 to devon? took 5 and a half to newquay anyway. you've got my mobile so whatever you're doing just drop me a line! i'm too scared to surf alone as i'm quite accident prone! have just finished work for the weekend and it feels so good. i wanna head to the beach already but I'm gonna wait till next weekend. let's hope there's some waves. know any nice camp sites in devon near the beach? anyone welcome to reply/ come along too! can't check my email till monday now, but will get back to you.
