Cheap-ish hotels in Bristol?

Postby .Jen. » Wed Apr 19, 2006 10:39 pm

Im coming over at the end of next week (28th to 30th April) and need a cheap-ish hotel or b&b.

Got one booked at the mo, but £150 for two nights is a tad steep for someone of the unemployed persuasion, so if anyone can think of anywhere that charges less id be really grateful.

Before anyone says it - I have f*cking googled it, but seem to get the same results time and time again - all the expensive crap is fully detailed, but sod all about the smaller places - Travel Lodge, Holiday Inn etc are all fully booked (hence the current booking at City Inn)

**edit** forgot to add, could do with being somewhere near Colston Hall - Im absolutely useless when it comes to getting around cities (being from jersey...), but know the area surrounding Colston Hall (wanna know just how useless... came over in 2002 for a show at Colston Hall, ended up asking for directions, only to find out I was right around the corner!)

Ummm, I know where there'll be cheap B&B's in bristol but you wouldn't want to stay there.

Why are you going to Bristol? I can recommend somewhere. (I lived there for a couple of years)

Coming over on 28th, got a concert on 29th and leaving on 30th. Have to come over the day before as there is only one flight a day to Bristol from Jersey, and it gets in at about 2pm.

Am meeting some mates (who are coming over from the States) at about midday and have to be at Colston Hall for 3pm for the pre-show party.

Don't. There's only one decent hostel in bristol (Yha) and even that sucks. (Had nowhere to live when I left london, spent a month and a half in hostels) - If you're in Bristol to party, pick a b&b somewhere near whiteladies road.

Ta for the advice guys :D, problem solved (by the skin of my teeth).

Got two people very interested in my old computer (well, its only a year old...) and ive just dropped the price of it so hoping that'll go in the next couple of days - if it does, wahey, not only hotel, but saturday night out on the piss with a bunch of Yanks and Canucks ;)

If that fails, my mates just offered to lend me the money
