Turning on a Wave

Postby ET » Tue Apr 18, 2006 4:37 am

I am starting to get pretty confident surfing 3-4ft waves and want to start to do some turns on the wave.
What is the best way to go about learning and perfecting these and are there any tips?

Thanks Heaps ET 8)

ITs all about shifting your weight from rail to rail leaning into the inside of the turn. You'll need to also shift your weight to the back of the board to aid the turn by digging the fins and rear of the borad in. ITs takes a little time as with everything but you'll get there eventually!

best advice i ever got -- turn your shoulders the way you want to go, make sure your chin is up & use your back foot if you're on a shortboard.

You can hug the rails all you want with your front foot, but you'll find you won't get anywhere, dig in with your back.
