I would like to say I admire the guy. He makes these obessively hand-crafted wooden surfboards (and they really are beautiful when you see them up close) I would like to say I admire his (as he sees it) counter-culture existence, his home-schooling his 10 (or so) kids over in Pataruru and generally the way he lives him life.
But as much as I try I cannot get past the facts. He's a dogmatic little man who sees no other viewpoints other than his own, in his attempts to be clever he is, sadly, only condescending and full of hubris.
When he attempts to make a point (win an argument) he comes out with all sorts of things that are non-falsifable, impossible to prove they're true -and impossible to prove they're not. He relies on obfuscation to carry him through. Every post is a performance.
Once you understand this - he's ok.

Sorry; sometimes I can be too much of a cunning-linguist (*smirk*).

He's argumentitive, sees no viewpoints other than his own, is full-of sh&t and half-truths, relies on 'delivery' of his message other than it's actual content to win arguments and is a legend nowhere other than in his own lunch hour.

That better?[/url]

ha ha, I agree totally.

But, how come he has just stopped posting on here? I would be "nice" to see what he would have to say about this thread. If anyone is over at Sways, tell him about this.

His ego would never alllow himself to simply go-away.

Hello etc, found my password again, it was under a pile of old sandpaper.

We have been working on the new "squid" boards which use multiple vortex generators to increase speed. . . . looking forward to posting some exceptionally high down the line speeds on the new boards, hopefully close to 40 mph, but definitely well over 30

Also selling lots of lovely wax all over the globe

There's a bit of an interview on Worldsurfradio.com too, all the juicy bits cut out but there it is.

Heard the latest gossip there Brent? Two Mount Maunganui surf industry legends whose wives left them to shack up together . .. . tragic. :?

Yours Logically and truthfully

Bowser

PS Brent, I have figured out who you are, you are the guy with the thruster and the black wetsuit, plus short haircut. got you pegged now mate!
