1. I am first a windsurfer, then a surfer, and there's no way I can get all my windsurfing equipment on a train, and then down to the beach
2. There aren't that many beaches (that I know of) that are that close to train stations! I tried to see if I could get a train to Newquay for the weekend, and it will take me 13 hrs and 47 minutes by train for what is usually a 5 hour drive!
But I have a group of friends who I windsurf with who give me a ride to the beach, thankfully, and I also have a cousin of mine and two other mates who surf who usually give me a ride when they're off surfing, so I guess I really shouldn't complain too much.
PLUS, I just came back from Trinidad (my home country) and had an excellent two weeks surfing there, some beaches of which are said to be unsurfable, but when you're crap, you don't know any better anyway, and I had loadsa fun!
so I believe that's the longest message I have ever left on a forum! How can I make it longer?
Happy New Year to everyone, and I hope you all have a great year's surfing/boarding! I know I will, even if I don't always get a ride to the beach!
here's a pic of crappy me trying to surf in Woolacombe earlier this year!
