surfing problems

Boardies are my gripe; what the hell is with them. Surfers have been wearing them for 40 years...can't anybody design them scientifically rather than fashion first!
The only good ones I've ever owned are Rip Curl STl or whatever...the welded seam ones. I've got two pairs...all my others are crap. too baggy to be really functional...they flap around in the water, they fill with water, they have stupid seams on the inner thighs that rub me every time I wear them, they have an stupid lace securing system in the middle at the front that makes them twist slightly to one side or the other whenever I spend more than an hour in the water in them.

To me the perfect boardie wold be slimmer, slightly shorter (lower thigh cut) & more anatomically cut - designed to be sitting in the water on a board - which is what we spend most of our time doing eh) they'd all have seam welded seams like the ripcurl STL system, they'd have a velcro closure system on the middle of the back - it'd never get in the way when paddling and it would incorporate a fixing system for a wetsuit top.

key pocket is the killer for me - my car can only be opened by an electrical key thing, so when i go surfing i have to take someone who likes sun tanning to just mind my xxxxx, or i go to non-popular beaches and just risk leaving it on the beach.

Once again I'll say.....
Get a normal key cut for the door lock only for the sake of a few quid and only being able to open one door at a time the surly you can lock the ignition key int he car withthe rest of your stuff. Far safer than leaving out the real key somwhere....

Doesn't work on all cars though - with my car you have to have the remote to unlock, de-immobilize and to reset the alarm. If you only use the key, it sets the alarm system off (it doesn't sound like its supposed to, but that is actually the way its been designed).

Thats one of the reasons why I got a little old banger to use as a beach car. I always tie my hair back when im in the water and the key is on the hairband

My car is like that. However, if I don't use the remote to lock the car (just use the lock button inside the door, or manually lock all the doors) the alarm is not activated, and I can just use the key to unlock the car with no alarm problems.

Thats what I thought... you jsut don't set the alarm... Who pays any attention to them anyway...

lol nope, doesnt work - tried it today. Also tried the panic alarm setting on the alarm . In the immortal words of Vickie Pollard - oh my god. Wont be doing that EVER again, even if I do end up panicking someday.

Not overly bothered about taking my nice new shiny car to the beach anyway - im too lazy to wash it every day lol. I'll stick to my beat up old Pug to get me there and back.
