do you live someplace warm? because if youre wearing a wetsuit you should be fine. its board rash. get a rash guard, you know those shirts people wear while surfing? they look like wetsuits but theyre not. they also help keep you warm, you can get them at almost any surfshop.

hey thanks...and I was on vacation in South Carolina, it was pretty warm..about 80 most of the week...I saw some people with rashguards..I'll check them out in the surf shop down the street! and just wondering...can you get them on your legs too? because I think I have them there too, but they aren't as bad..

i get them on my knees from my grip pad pretty badly. wherever your skin rubs against the board wax. i dont think theres anyway to protect against that except a full body wetsuit which is very expensive. buy one thats whatever size you are, it will seem tight but its supposed to be. theyre usually about 20-30 dollars, 40 for the good ones. just buy one for 20, thats what i use.

They may be sea lice bites. Unfortunatley there is no cure. They tend to ''bite'' in friction areas such as wet suit cuffs, armpitts backs of knees etc as the friction irritates them. We get a lot here in Tenerife when the water warms, a splash of 96º alchohol seems to help a bit. Otherwise definatley board/wax rash.

I get them everywhere from the transition from sitting on my board waiting for a wave to paddling.I was told to put zinc on them. They go away.Dont worry about them.
