Don't be like that dude. There's no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid answers. And I think that post qualifies.

If you want a DUMB question look back a bit for my "Where IS mavericks?" thread.

The guy had a genuine question, and I've learned a lot from reading peoples answers, as I'm sure has he.

Thank you Stone Fox...

It is kinda like my goal surfing at pipeline one day when I'm ready. I'm not that crazy and just jump into Pipe in a big wave day at this moment after hearing the advices from all of you.

I just want some information about Pipe or other good surfing spot.

The South Shore in Oahu is pretty good. I went to Diamond Head again with 2 to 4 foot (Hawaiian scale) waves. Sometimes there were 5 & 6 footer. It was fun but hard to paddle out because there wasn't really a channel. The white water were everywhere. If you don't know, Diamond Head is properly a place where you need to paddle out far to reach the breaks. I think it's around 100 yards of paddling to reach the bigger waves.

I went out at around 4pm to 5pm... I was at cliffs...

I'm not sure what time I will go out tomorrow. I need to make an arrangement with my friend. I think I will go out at around 4 pm...

I need to work on my paddling... It's hard to paddle against the white water...

4pm? When I was in Oahu I tended to go out really early to catch the offshore winds. Usually that is the best time in the day?!

But who cares, waves are waves.

And stonefox...you read my mind...thats exactly what i posted...untill i saw wat you wrote!

Also, what type of board are you currently using? Do you longboard? Or have you advanced to a shorterboard?

I don't go early in the day because either I work or I don't wake up until noon.

I like going around 4pm because less sun. Sometimes the sun can hurt my eyes...

I use a 7'0 fun board, it's my first board from HIC.
I will eventually get a shortboard. I think it's awesome with the moves you can do with it.
I will get a gun for big waves. Like I mentioned, I would like to surf Pipe someday.

I just stick with the 7'0 fun board for now until I get better.

I didn't go Diamond Head today hawaiiSUCKSexceptsurf... because my friends wanted to go White Plain. It wasn't that good. The waves were just ok.. too many breaks..

Did you have fun in Diamond Head??? The waves were big and powerful right??? I can see you got a ugly cut there.

I really miss Diamond Head today. I supposed the waves are 2 to 5 foot.. I should have gone to Diamond Head instead today. It's ok, 1st time in White Plain.

that board has definately taken some beatings-seems like every time you post a picture of it is after it has gotten completely rocked

Baldie, when the surf is uhp..like big time, then go down the east coast. There are some nice spots that only go off when there is a gd swell!

ummm...i dont think so. With a gun, the idea is it has much less volume, a very pointy tail and nose (pin-tail), and it has a massive rocker!

I think that board has too much volume, and isnt shaped right for bigger waves. And the last thing you want to do is be caught in a pipe wave!
