Stickers/Graphics on your surfboard...

Postby matty_02 » Mon Feb 20, 2006 12:40 am

Hi all,

I purchased my new board (second hand) recently and wanted to jazz it up a little.

There are some pretty cool stickers around, but i was wondering if i put one on, how hard are they to remove, and can you wax over the top of them without any dramas etc.?

Theres also a guy down in Torquay who air brushes any graphic you want on your board for about $50.

If anyone has any cool looking pics or ideas that would suit my board below, please share them with us.

Cheers

Your board looks fine as it is, its not about how it looks, its how it performs. Im not sure about getting it airbrushed, spose you could if you wanted but it could ruin the characteristics of your board such as its weight and shape. If you put stickers on your board they wil simply come off when you take it into the water, simple as that.

thats the pic i took to show my broken nose, its fixed now. but it also shows my radiohead cat pretty well. its on anouther damaged area (because all hawaiian breaks are reef breaks) and i thought it looked good. personally, i think you should just leave your board alone. i wouldnt put stickers on the top where your footing would be, but bumper stickers work fine on the other idle areas

I re-did a board for an art project for school. I just used acrylic and spray paint and made sure I sealed it really well with clear acrylic spray.

I'll post pics later if anyone wants to see

hey. well last year i got a load of stickers bought for my board and they were really kool but first time i went in the water all but one fell off! so i'd reconmend leaving the stickers on your board for a while before you go for a surf. they do look pretty kool and i surpose you can make your board more personall to you but its about the performance really. still i think its a kool idea to jazz up yuor board. the persons school project was pretty kool. :D
