Postby Laguna » Wed Feb 08, 2006 6:27 pm

Hey, I bet everyone here who surfs will never forget surfing on their first surfboard, I was wondering what was everyones first surfboard and where is it now? Did you sell it or have you got a special place for it?

HIC 7'4" x 21.75" x 2.75"
Hanging on a rack on the wall.
Don't use it anymore, and I hoping to trade it in for a longboard or fish sometime soon (I havn't decided yet).

Custard point 'predator' 9'2" mal - bit of a big wave longboard, but borrowed of a friend who wasnt going to miss it.

Not a bad board to learn on for my 5'"8 75kg self - after 8 weeks bought myself an 8" minimal and am just getting used to that now.

My first board was the classic too short, too skinny, battered shortboard bought for a 'bargain' price that I really couldn't surf on

The first board I could actually surf was my mate's 7'11 mini-mal (affectionately known as 'the barge') which I 'borrowed' for a year

What I still think of as 'My First Board' was a 7'4 funboard (with pretensions of a shortboard) from Mac at Tunnel Vision at Newquay.
This board I love and still own, and still surf when its small or crumbly, or even if I just need to get re-acquainted with surfing after a few weeks out of the water :D

I love my boards.... :D

First board was a 7'2 funboard, one of the epoxy ding-proof pop-out things. Its long gone at this stage - ran out of money when I was travelling east coast oz, and got the folks back home to sell it. For the average sized person, I'd recommend a 7'6 or 7'9 mal pop-out. Will last 4ever and long after, when surfin 6'1 pin tails, it'll still b fun on the small days. (unless u drink all your money and sell it!)
