first class recommendation requested

i live in los angeles and over the next few months I'm going to have the ability to take about 3 or 4 full days off (i have a real rough job) -- anyway, i want to go on a first class surf camp vacation but i'm looking for the following:

1) top notch accomodations, food, service, etc

2) must be "close" to LA -- i only have a few days off, so i'm not crazy about flying to brazil or africa or something that's going to burn up 2 days flying

3) must have a lot of beginner friendly areas -- although i'm reasonably experienced, i still have a long way to go, so getting crunched isn't my priority!

anyway, your thoughts are really welcome on this!

thanks
