Favourite surfing DVD??

Postby MorseyB » Tue Jan 24, 2006 7:54 pm

Hey guys, i'm thinking about buying a few surfing films, probably a shortboard, and a longboarding dvd, with cool moves and wipeouts!

Based on the few windsurfing dvds i've bought, they tend to vary considerabley in terms of quality and duration (30mins for £20!) Is this the same for surf dvds?

SPROUT - great mix of riding every type of board.
It's one of the only surf flicks I can watch over and over again.

I love watching surfing DVD's , bought a few, I can endlessly watch them over and over again. My favourite Surf Movie is Big Wednesday, great story about friends surfing. Good dvds to buy on surfing are the bruce movie, endless summer 1+2, and riding giants is very good - goes back to surfing in the 60's to how its adapted to now. That shows all kinds of surfing really.

Hey bendy where do you windsurf? I'm a windsurfer too! And I do a bit of surfing when I can. My fave surf films are Step Into Liquid and Big Wednesday.

About the windsurfing DVD's, you should just wait until a magazine has a free giveaway. A few months ago, Boards had the Indoor Windsurfing DVD, and also Fanatic were giving away a free DVD, which is really good. Also Windsurf Mag gave away Escape From Pressure, which was wicked. Mostly Starboard team riders.. like Levi Siver, Taty Franz, etc

Riding Giants is a great big wave documentary. It will educate you on the forefathers of surfing. And also the Billabong Odyssey is an amazing film in the search to find the biggest wave on earth, they are still out there searching for bigger waves and ways to get to them.

Just got Campaign 2, and it is sick. The surfing is just unreal, fortunately, they give you the option to watch it without the stupid skits. What they pull in this dvd is just crazy. Check it out.

No Friends 1 still rates as one of the best sponge flicks of all time.
