well we did not live by the coast so they had a point. But now I live by the coast in stunning Cape Town.
Got my board with my first pay cheque.
Anyhow I dont think it matters when you start.
as long as you start. cause 'only a surfer knows the feeling' as they say...

same here, always loved the ocean, but never got interested in surfing until last summer..it's true that it doesnt matter what age u start, as long as u start, some people find their soulmates, some find religion, me, i found surfing :)

Amen!

I had an interest in surfing all my life~ moved to Cali when I was 17 and became a regular betty. Basically, a boyfriend got me started/hooked.

I'm 25 and have only just started surfing. It is something that i have always wanted to do but never had the guts or motivation. As soon as i tried it tho, man i can't get enough. It's given me a new energy and i know that sounds cheesy, but it's the way it is.

goodnite everyone I new to this location. I go by the name of howlyboytt.
I started surfing when I was 13 yrs old in 1969. I have been surfing almost every weekend since then. 36 years and still loving every session. My passion hasn't wavered a bit, I can still remember my very first wave and how stoked I felt. Its 12:17am Trinidad time and I will be going surfing in about 9 hrs. The waves are expected to be 3-4 meters in the morning with any luck I can get my sons to go with me.
