Arrrggghhh.... I've just checked the surf forecast for the weekend - It's been a while since I've seen 5 stars for ANYWHERE on magicseaweed!

AAARRGGGHHH..... i'm skint. I have about £50 to my name and I WANT to surf this weekend... Do you reckon the surf shops in Croyde will be open? And will they rent winter suits?

£10 board
£8 winter wetsuit
£9 hood, gloves and booties.

All together £25...

Now all I need is to find a mate who's prepared to drive me all the way to Devon from London... Not easy given none of my mates surf...!

Not yet - girlfriends got the digi camera!

The weekend saw a big ol' swell, but I dont think it lived up to the magic seaweed five star hype.

There were way overhead sets coming in, but the offshore breeze was very strong so the waves were coming out of nowhere and then jacking up to vertical faces almost instantly and then closing out in a big way

Anything smaller was coming straight onto the shore as a beach dump

But I had a reasonable session on Puts on saturday morning, got a couple of huge waves... and then got beaten senseless by the close out :?

Saturday afternoon got very messy, but there were some nice little sections to be had now and again :D

The really annoying thing is the pictures look superb. Overhead, nice shape, barrels, offshore, sun is even out... but it all lasts for a split second before coming down on your head!  :D

Top weekend though - feeling a little sore this morning!
