I've just realised it's early January though...! :( Have a read of what I just posted in the chat section on that... :(

I'd say nothing smaller than an 8'0, no bigger than 9'0 for a starter.

Stay away from concave, rails and a nose. You need a long flat plank for paddling and popping-up...and that's it.

After a year, go down a foot. Repeat until on a short board of your liking.
