Not true to this guy.

Surfing fits into my "Work Hard Play Hard" mentality. I work about 60-70 hours a week. I go into work about 10:00am, sit down in front of the computer, and bang out some special FX for a movie. I get out about 9:00 ish and go home and putz around the computer a bit more.

When the weekend rolls around, I grab my board, and I'm out there from 3 to 8 hours surfing. Ocassionally I try to sneak in dawn session before work, but I always end of feeling like a dog the rest of the day.

Same with all my buddies that go surfing with me... I don't think I could apply the title slacker or bum to any of them.

peace,

Lu

im with ntmonkey on this one, i mork my ass of during the week balancing 3 jobs and college work but i always make time for surfing....its the thing that keeps me going throughout the week!

i think that to live "a surfers life" would be amazing, but i think its not always a realistic option, becuase i would say that most of us have to work for one reson or another.....saying that.....im planning another year out and am gonna do my best just to just surf surf and surf some more!

I have to agree with the guys above , unfortunately like them I have bills to pay!. I do love my job and I do love sufing , but I have to work hard at my job 50 to 60 hrs a week , but no doubt when I have kids and he or she gets that million dollar surfing sponsorship contract , then I shall retire and surf all day long lol.

Lets see...

Today I woke up and drove to HMB. Surfed the Jetty to stretch and warm-up. Drove over to Pillar Point and paddled out to Mavs from the Left.

After that I spent the rest of my day in a fog of shopping w/wife and son.

Rounded it out on this forum.

Pathetic huh?!

Rinse and repeat if necesary.

I love surfing, but the 'Surfer Life' is not me at all.

If I get to go surfing more than about 6 times in a year then I'm doing exceptiionally well.

I live as far away from the beach as you can in the UK. I have wife/ kid/ mortgage/ bills etc which have to come first. Unfortunately, whilst I would love it to be otherwise, surfing now comes way down the list of possible activities - even at the weekend!

Not true of me at all. I am currently a teacher (who will start medical school this summer). I work hard and play hard. I don't smoke weed. I don't have a goofy ass bleached mop on my head.

I love surfing, I could give two shits about being some carbon clone who needs to fit a stereotype.

btw - a good 50% of the people I surf with are professionals and also don't fit the Hollywood mould. They are good surfers too.
