I’ve recently commenced the process of co-coordinating an international surf movie titled One Island. The main story behind it all is that if you sucked all the seas dry we’d all be standing on one island etc. The flick is based around the fact that although crews from around the world are all different we all share the same buzz so we might as well share our stories – the same sorts of stories that would have otherwise have been shared over a beer with mates etc. To provide an example, one contributor from South Africa has some 1985 footage of a place breaking beautifully at 8-10ft. The place is usually dead flat and hasn’t had surf of anywhere near that magnitude since. Barry is now in his forties and to this day – that is his fondest surfing related memory. If you have footage of a special memory in your surfing life we'd love to see it. Simply email me for further info. As the flick is about what we have gained from surfing we're giving it back as 70% of any profits from the sales of the DVDs will go straight to Surf Aid Int
