CALIFORNIA IN MAY

Hallo, im from north east england and have the chance of a cheap flight to California in may for two weeks. I know this isnt the surf season for this area but do u reckon i'll get 3/4ft clean surf for at least half that time? Also i' m not local so will only have time to visit the known spots. How crowded is your version of crowded? I'm used to surfing with 10/15+ on one peak..is it much worse over there? Also if any locals are reading this and wanna hook up i'll return the favour if you want to surf our qualit ywinter waves. come and surf where Captain cook was Born and raised before he travelled to hawaii! PS im just after good quality waves with as few crowds as poss. im not bothered about seeing the 'california surfing lifestyle' fleshin' and can't be arsed with any attitude...is this possible in cali in may? also...colder the better
