whats the difference between using acrylic and enamel spray paints? i was digging around on the forum and someone said to use acrylic. so yeah… any help on that would be awesome.

also, i remember a while back there was a rather comprehensive thread on painting boards but i cant seem to find it. i spent a few hours looking for it last night but i just couldent find it. any help on that too would be cool i guess.

I dont know much about sprays, But I heard paintin ya board screws it up. Unless your makin it yourself...
Dont know which one to use thought, Id say use acrylic

i doesnt really matter what paint u use but as long as u give i a good laquar on top it will be fine

hi, I always use acrylics but you have to be careful because some acrylics have a chemical reaction with the resin .. how to say it ..? some acrylics have a reaction with the product that makes your board get hard. Im not very good explaining in english but I hope it can help. that is if you are painting on a virgin foam... gd luck!

i get the magazine surfing and it recomended the enamel sprays if your gonna do it yourself, but make sure 2 plan the design first . Also ask around because there are places where you can get your board done properly i can't emagine it being that expensive 2 get it done

mai, im painting an epoxy board thats already been glassed, so im not dealing with the foam.

sharky, im sure i could get it done but i decided to make it a project and hopefully i can live with the results


can anyone offer a more technical explanation on the pros and cons of acrylic vs. enamel? or does it even matter if your going to cover the damn thing in clear coat anyways?
