I got endless summer 1 and 2 yesterday, sarted watching 1. Ive also got riding giants and big wednesday. Riding giants it really interesting to watch big wave surfing. Big wednesday is just great - watching them ride longboards, the old traditional way, making it look so amazing, fun and cool - makes me want to go out and buy a longboard.

Have to say the best bit on the bruce movie for me is Teahupoo, music by Kyuss just seemed to fit that section so well. I got Young guns 2 free with carve i think, its pretty sweet, but not as good as the bruce movie id say. Purely because the bruce movie seems to capture the passion he has for surfing and some of the longest barrels ive seen! any one happen to have seen that "solid" dvd at teahupoo? well theres this bit in the extras on that with Dylan Longbottom at Shipsterns in Tasmania, that place is sick!

the guys in greg noll's group in the beginning of riding giants were living the life. just surf, hunt for food, and chill, do stupid stuff.

how sweet would that be

or how sweet would it be to be the first guys to surf J-Bay and all of the natives join in

or was that another scene. whatever

ye the beginnng of riding giants is really cool, seeing all these guys who lived to surf, all theyd do is travell and look for the best places to surf (same as the endless summer), what a cool life! Old surfing from the 60's and 70's was so cool.

I know that this isnt a surfing movie, but I just watched Orange County, its so hilarious in the beginning when they go out for some "tsunami" waves, and they copy the wave from the perfect storm, and then the guy dies. no wonder he died, he wasnt going anywhere when he was paddlin'

I laughed so flippin hard :D :D

i may be mistaken, but i don't think anyone has mentioned "step into liquid"? "no special effects, no stuntmen, no stereotypes, no other feeling comes close". if you've seen it you know what i mean, if you havn't GO SEE IT! this movie is impressive to surfers and non-surfers alike. there are literally times when this movie will make me feel so good i'll tear up(sad i know). yeah so that one is my favorite, i like jack johnson's "thicker than water" a lot too though.

...and speaking or orange county. what about when they want to give a tribute to their dead friend by pushing his board out into the water loaded with lit fireworks? haha, hilarious.

nobody has mentioned fin. I saw the ad for it, but haven't seen it. seemed like a good idea, except contorary to sprout. fin makes it seem like everyone is surfing what they want, but most are still on the thruster. sprout sees it the other way.
