thruster fin placement.

Postby tautologies » Fri Nov 25, 2005 8:56 pm

Hi guys. I have three finsetup on my 9'6 (yes it's a pop-out, all I could afford after my girl broke my classic).

Anyways...it has a three fin setup (thruster?), and I am wondering what the ideal fin placement is. I moved the fin forward on the board and it became so much easier to turn, but I guess the side fins are supposed to push some water towards the third fin...(sorry if I am not using the correct terminology here...). Can anyone help out here? Is there such a thing as an ideal triangual setup? Now my back fin is almost parallell with the side fins..which I guess is too much in the front...

any advice is very much appreciated...

uhh could you get a picture?

do you have three seperate long boxes for each?

try around 13" for the side fins and 5" on the tail, but move them around still.

generally, the closer they are the looser it'll be, the farther appart, harder to turn.

Thx for the advice..I'll keep tweaking it then..I just wanted to know if there is a "magic" fin placement.

I've got the 5'' fins on the side and a longer in the middle.
