Storing my surfboard at night.

Postby Bearx2 » Mon Apr 03, 2023 5:03 pm

Hi, I'm going on a surf camping trip and don't know where to store my surfboard at night. However, I'm thinking about just storing it in my car for night and taking it out before the heat starts hitting.

Hi bearz this is a world wide forum so much will depend on where you’re going to camp in your tent.
The bears your encounter could be grizzly, brown black or at extremes, polar or drop bears ,

Security at night for board in car correct, moving board to tent during heat of the day not so theft secure.
Some surf coastshave under tree cover , the desert coasts of Australia no tree, but therefore safe from dropbears ( they require trees)
Polar bears tent or car Ok for daylight storage ( thieves would be pretty hardy!
Some Iberian and Full African spots require both personal and board security, South American countries too.
Some noted Australian beaches are also not theft safe
I've taken up troll hunting just for fun, instead of a rifle I'll just use a pun! 冲浪爷爷

The car is a good bet as long as it is not too hot… I’ve seen a few fried boards but in general it depends on the board, there is a curing process that larger companies tend to skip that leaves flammable gas in the board if not done. Not really a way of knowing so just be careful not to leave it too long in a baking car!!
When the wave breaks here, don’t be here. Or you’re gonna get drilled…
