Foot placement on gun

I have a mini gun, about 7 foot. I am curious about how I should pop up and the foot placement on the board since I have never surfed a gun before.
Can anyone please help me?

i have semi gun and only thing i notice is the need to move up and down the board slightly.. its 6'6 and my other boards are 5'9 and 6'0 with occasional 6'2s in between.. got none at moment though but will get soon.

stand up is easier imo because of the extra volume i have in my semi gun. as for riding though i like to be right back on the pad however when i stand up i am probably a tad forward and find myself stepping back to get foot on back of pad..

Have you surfed it? its probably going to be easier to catch waves if you have more volume than your daily boards

foot placement on every board depends on what you want to do. Try some different placements and see what they do. It also depends on the waves and what your skill level is. In general you want your back foot over the fins to do hard turns and for speed you want to be more forward. The bigger the board the greater distance you have to travel.
