Surfing alone?

Postby sweet_ride » Tue Nov 08, 2005 8:17 pm

I just recently took up surfing after a few lessons. I loved it so much that i bought a board and wetsuit. However I do not know anyone who surfs and i am wary about the prospect of surfing on my own. My attitude was, "just because no-one i know surfs, why should that stop me from surfing".
I live two hours away from the nearest beach, if i didnt fail my 2nd year at swansea i would've been surfing every weekend at least. I will be surfing at langennith and caswell beaches.

What are your thoughts about surfing alone, and with me being a shy person, how do i go about meeting people of similar abilities and hanging out with them?
