Hello all. My name is Luke. 21 years old and i live about 10 miles outside Newquay. Surfing has always been something i've wanted to get into but i never actually got around to it until a couple of months ago. I wanted to start off on the right foot so i invested in a surf lesson and since then i've caught the bug and i can't stop. I went right out and spent 300 quid on a board, £30 on a board bag and £60 quid on a roof rack for my car :D

I now spend all of my free time in the water and i feel that i'm progressing every time i go. My problem is that none of my friends are the least bit interested in surfing. Regardless of how many times i explain how amazing it actually is, they insist that staying at home, getting stoned is far more enjoyable  Anyway, Surfing alone is all well and good but i guess that having someone with you to share the experiances and give each other encouragement would make it that much more fun.

So if there is anybody that has room for another surfing buddy please let me know

Yea, i know but Newquay is the more convieniant for me as i only live a few miles away. occasionally i venture to perren or st. ives but to be honest. I like Newquay alot. Also, its not so crowded now the temperature is dropping off a bit.

Luke, you have to check out Sennen when you get the chance, super clear water and beautiful beach, plus amazing waves to be had!!

Newquay will be better now the surf nazis arent about!!

" Works for me " :D

Luke " : ..heres a plan of attack for ya to get their asses off the setee !!!

1) Arrange a day that is mutualy good for you all to get together ( winter or summer )..but tell your friends " look im just heading to the beach for a smoke and maybe a paddle .." they dont have to do anything " .. emphasize the " they dont have to do anything " !!

2) Without telling your friends hire a bigass foam begginners board and one wetty of big general size ( you want it loose so the stoners dont die trying to get it on  )

3) have hidden in a cool box a selection of Entemmans finest cakes ..sticky'er the better and the bestest cake sprinkle with a whole baggie of natures green goodness  .

4)You leave them on the beach whilst overdoing the woo-hoos and yaays " just offshore ..just to make sure that even the most hammered have taken in the fact that it " could " be fun if they were bothered!

Now...
5) let your friends know what the deal is ..whoever stays out there the longest just paddling around gets the " mutha cake " ..and the rest are runners up prizes ! ..even if its only for a few minutes , one is sure to wanna try again !!

6) if you have reached number five but nothing is happening then of course use all forms of bribery , blackmail , insults and in extreme cases ..threaten to sleep with someones mum

haha that sounds like a plan CheeZee. You are right though. Its just a matter of persuading them to hit the beach with me and experiance it just once. I can almost guarentee that they'd become just as hooked as i've become. The hard part though is luring them there. I might just be able to pull it off with the sticky cake idea though :D

..lol.. never know my man it might work .. its like the pie'eyed piper leading the stoney rodents to the water .." just the rustling of an entemmens cake box should get em' scurrying  ..most stoners have a " cake sense " .. i know ..its taken me years to acheive stoner zen like status !!

i am now able to make shaolin style sweet grabbing moves

I hope something works for ya my man ..im struggling now my main bud has dissapeared to France .. although in all fairness a few guys on here ( mainly phil ) ..have offered to hook up but i'm so busy with my lil'man and business that skiving off of work just doesnt happen and i work six sometimes seven days a week now which bites like the mutha of all bitey things !!! ..so give it a go man ..im not letting my bro's off next year ..one of the lazyass green munchers is coming with me

I was just browsing through messages about people looking for buddies and I came across yours. I learnt to surf in newquay (although I'm very much still "learning" - standing up on my 7"2 is still a mission!) and have been back a few times this last year. Am actually heading there again in about 3 weeks, so if you're still all on your tod, then let me know and we could meet up for a session or two, or three... :)

hi thaya

i surf a 7"2 minimal too - i live in newquay and would b happy to go for a surf wit you when you come down.

I am also quite a beginner, so i think our skills would be well matched. Email me, and let me know when you're down. You'd be welcome to join us... I go out with a whole mis-match of people, some rather skilled, some brand new to surfing since a few months ago.

All very friendly, I assure you. Feel free to get in touch.
