Hi guys, ever ridden this board? The FireWire 9'4" wingnut noserider?
I own the tuflite Robert August version, which is the best board I've ever ridden, and told my friend to buy the newer version by FireWire.
They say it's an evolution, of the previous model, and dimensions are very similar: 9'4" X 23.3/4 X 3.
Unfortunately everything else is different.
The newer model has:
Less rocker;
No rocker on the nose;
Round rails in the back (as opposed to flatter on the older version);
The rails are thicker, while the old version has very thin rails;
The fin box is much more forward.
By the looks it should catch waves better and be more of a noserider than the tuflite but... It's a dog...
It's harder to catch waves, the nose dives a lot more, it's unstable in quicker turns...
We traded boards for one session and my friend scored more waves on mine than he usually does on 3 or 4 sessions...
Anyone tried this board? Does it get better with practice? How is this an "improvement"???
