My Torq got ran over by a pickup truck

Postby BaNZ » Wed Jun 09, 2021 3:55 am

It ran over the nose of the board while the board was upside down. Just a few inches on the nose. Surprised it didn't snap the nose.

The lifted Tacoma stopped and was shocked at what he saw. Just bruised ego.

Others - " I just got this new EPS board, used it a few times, now it has spider cracks on the rail and stringer, Bummers ".

Banz - " My molded-epoxy board just got ran over by a truck.............Hmm, All Good....... I'll just paddle out. "

I think Torq should sponsor me with some boards. I'm more than happy to do surfboard vs pickup trucks video.

That should be the new norm, if it can withstand a pickup truck. Then it has passed QC.

Less rocker? Does it glide better now?

I have to concur!
I broke close to 10 surfboards but torq survived three years without any repairs whatsoever!
My NSP (also epoxy) been repaired 6 times including snapping in the middle and a broken fin box.

Torq appears to be unbreakable:)

That was what I loved about my BIC board, my kids used to drop it from the surf racks all the time, and nothing but scratches. I still hated how it rode but loved how they kids rode it: HARD

I think that we discussed it a couple years ago. My BIC got snapped in two halves; and I got my palms and wetsuit lacerated by the surface layer while trying to escape wipe outs and the rip current. I didn't enjoy it at all:)

Torq is officially car proof! A Mercedes SUV ran my torq surfboard with both sets of wheels. And, the board survived. Only some scratches over the asphalt abrasion

Don't tell me it ran it over from the middle of the board? As that would be incredible. The driver also isn't very aware if he/she managed to do it on two wheels. Mine was in a massive pickup and stopped as soon as he felt a little bump.
